Another ultra-personal Punk feud was the one he had with Chris Jericho in 2012 which boasted an underrated WrestleMania match and an intense street fight at Extreme Rules. Chris Jericho can relate to Punk's frustrations, having left WCW in 1999 and WWE in 2005 when he felt that he wasn't being appreciated for his efforts and was looked over for certain spots and pushes. On his Talk Is Jericho podcast earlier this year Jericho and Edge described an incident at a house show in 2010 before a Punk & Jericho versus Edge & John Morrison tag match. Jericho and Edge wanted to watch an important hockey game between America and Canada and decided to call it in the ring. In protest, Punk worked the whole match without tagging Jericho in. Jericho chewed Punk out backstage and the two engaged in a shouting match. Apparently the two mended fences and were able to work with each other successfully in their 2012 series. Fast forward to November 2014 and the now infamous Punk shoot. During the interview Punk said that he hasn't spoken to Jericho, once a friend, because he thought that Jericho would use their private conversation to drum up interest in his podcast and accused Jericho of having an 'agenda'.
