10 WWE Stars That The Internet Is Wrong To Hate

5. Goldberg

Why The Internet Hates Him: Goldberg may have been a huge fan favourite in WCW but, amongst the internet wrestling community, he's a total villain. The main reason for the IWC hate is because Goldberg was pushed very hard right from the start. Fresh out of the WCW Power Plant, Goldberg embarked on a massive winning streak, destroying his opponents in record time. It was an unprecedented push, but it was one that worked. It accentuated his positives (his look, intensity and power moves) while hiding his weaknesses (the fact he couldn't really work a long match). So, yes, the massive Goldberg was pushed from the start in WCW while internet favourites like Chris Benoit toiled away in the midcard. Some saw that as unfair, especially when Benoit and company could wrestle circles around Goldberg (something Regal actually did during an infamous Nitro match). Then there's his attitude towards wrestling. For Goldberg, wrestling is a business, not a passion. He doesn't need the limelight and will only wrestle if the money is right. His attitude has made him a target backstage with several in the industry labelling him 'hard to work with'. Why They're Wrong: How can you blame Goldberg for accepting a monster push? Was he going to say no when there was big money to be made? At the end of the day, wrestling is a business and Goldberg was a good businessman. He made huge money over a very short period and never has to wrestle again. As for the quality of his matches, Da Man did have one or two crackers with DDP, Scott Steiner and Bret Hart. Goldberg, like Batista, comes across as a decent guy who isn't a mark for the business or himself.
