Why The Internet Hates Him: The internet hates Batista for the same reason they hate Kevin Nash: because he's a big guy. Batista has one of the most impressive physiques in WWE history. Many assumed that was the reason why Batista got the push he got, since Vince historically favours the jacked-up aesthetic for his headliners. Another reason for the Batista hate in 2003 was because he was tied with Triple H, who was probably the internet's number one enemy at that point. He was guilty by association. Adding to that was the fact that he still hadn't found his feet as a worker, meaning his matches were often average or poor. The Batista hate intensified when the big man came back in 2014. The Animal, who was supposed to be a babyface, won the 2014 Royal Rumble match to the annoyance of the fans in attendance (and online) who wanted Daniel Bryan to win and main event 'Mania. Batista became a heel by default. As well as these there were also the allegations of affairs with divas, an apparently cocky attitude and backstage scuffles that had internet fans talking. Why They're Wrong: Batista is a great worker, plain and simple. Although a little shaky in the beginning, he improved tenfold when he began working with the likes of Triple H, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, Finlay and The Undertaker from 2005 onwards. Batista has had many great matches during his WWE career. People also tend to forget that Batista wasn't pushed heavily from the start and actually had to pay his dues first in OVW and then in a minor role on Smackdown as Reverend D-Von's body guard. Batista only got a big push when the fans started to cheer for him in late 2004. Before that, he was mainly used the 'muscle' in Evolution matches and segments. As for the other stuff? That's really Batista's business, but in interviews he comes across as a genuine, humble person. Not the egomaniacal superstar that the IWC has painted him as in the past.
