10 WWE Stars Who Are In Desperate Need Of A Charecter Makeover
6. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler’s career has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride in recent years. He has been very close to becoming a main event star - but always seems to find himself drifting back into midcard status.
There is no question he is a talented wrestler inside the ring. That being said, his character never connected with the audience the way it needed to. When it comes to taking big bumps in the ring no one does it better; however, that doesn’t always resonate with the casual fans and those are the fans a performer needs to connect with in order to cement their status.
The character has certainly had its share of flaws throughout the years.
Though he recently changed it, Ziggler had bleached blonde hair, which hadn’t really been a thing in wrestling since the 1990s, for a good portion of his career. It made him feel a little bit behind the times. He called himself “The Show-off”, but didn’t really show-off more than any other wrestler.
Ziggler would talk about not getting his “shot” (at being a top star) on air despite the fact that he was losing every week on television, which made no sense in the context of WWE storylines. He is an amazing talent, but he may have done all he can do with the Dolph Ziggler persona, which even after all these years isn’t that clearly defined.
Taking a couple months off of television and returning under a new name might breathe some new life into this outstanding in-ring performer.
