There was only ever going to be one man in this spot. John Cena is, of course, the biggest moneymaker in WWE, and seems set to retain his position as top dog until he hangs up his sneakers. He continues to generate the loudest crowd responses (both positive and negative), sell the most tickets, and - crucially - shift the most merchandise. As much as we, the invested, long-term followers of the product, are sick to the back teeth of Cena's repetitive shtick, he continues to do more financial good than any other superstar - and does so while generating a boatload of good publicity. Cena is set to take a break after Hell in a Cell, giving others the chance to step up and prove themselves the next indispensable superstar of the future. For the sake of WWE's future, they'd better hope somebody does.
