10 WWE Stars Who Have Suffered The Most Since WrestleMania 32

The reset has wronged Rusev.

Being part of the WrestleMania card is a literal dream come true for any WWE performer, and the distinction of being booked on the show represents something wrestlers can strive towards each year. 'Mania 33 is no different, but it's startling to look back at last year's event only to see many of the roster have fallen from grace dramatically.

WrestleMania 32 was one of the longest in history; due to the approximate six-hour length of the show (including the Kickoff portion), WWE had to fill out the card with numerous stars who perhaps wouldn't have been in contention otherwise.

Many of those names grace this list, because several of them will struggle to be written onto this year's show. Others will miss 'Mania altogether for different reasons.

False dawns, injuries and outright ignorance from WWE's creative team have worked against the ones included here; stars like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, despite their own up and down moments, won't be featured, because even with periods of turmoil they were still pushed heavily...

10. Curtis Axel

Remember when Curtis Axel was cast as a 'Paul Heyman Guy', captured the WWE Intercontinental Title and was mixing it up with the likes of Triple H and John Cena live on Raw? Those days seem like a lifetime ago, because the son of Mr. Perfect has had a less-than-stellar past few years.

Back at WrestleMania 32, Axel was just one of the many WWE performers who were there solely to make up numbers in the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and he was eliminated around halfway through the match.

Since last year's 'Mania card, the long-suffering Curtis has gone from being part of the jobber 'Social Outcasts' group to being nicknamed 'Mr. Irrelevant' after he was picked last for Raw in the WWE Draft. Unsurprisingly, neither gimmick has caused waves on Monday nights.

At 37 years of age, it seems impossible to imagine that WWE will try pushing Axel again; not only will the guy likely be part of the Battle Royal proceedings once again, he's also staring at the potential of a release when the company does some Spring cleaning.
