10 WWE Stars Who Have Suffered The Most Since WrestleMania 32

6. Jack Swagger

There was a time when Jack Swagger was considered to be a performer who possessed limitless potential; the kind of athletic, well-muscled and clean cut wrestler WWE were always on the hunt for, Swagger's potential hasn't been realised even when pushed towards the top titles.

Now, the former World Heavyweight Champion has requested his release from the promotion, a sure sign that he realised how much his stock has fallen over the past few years.

A spot in WrestleMania 32's Battle Royal did nothing for Swagger (sensing a pattern yet?), and he has since been drafted to Raw before then being one of the first stars to switch brands and sign with SmackDown; informed by Tom Phillips in September that his Raw contract was set to expire, Swagger then appeared on the blue brand 24 hours later.

In retrospect, this flip-flopping between shows was an alarm bell signalling the end of Swagger's run in WWE, but the creative team must also take responsibility for never fully capitalising on his popular 'We The People' mantra too.

Let down by the writers and cast aside in favour of new faces, the fed-up 'All-American American' hadn't progressed one bit since last April before asking to be cut free.
