Embracing his father and desperately clutching his newly-won Intercontinental Title, the emotion exhibited by Zack Ryder following that Ladder Match victory at WrestleMania 32 was genuine; ironically, Ryder wasn't even supposed to be in the match, and was only drafted in after Neville went down with an injury before the pay-per-view.

24 hours later, the topsy-turvy WWE career of Zack rolled along, and he was beaten by The Miz for the very same belt he had just captured.

Since then, Ryder has brought his Hype Bros association with Mojo Rawley to the main roster and was in the running to capture SmackDown's Tag-Team Titles by virtue of winning a Battle Royal on the December 13 episode of the show, but suffering an injury in that match ruined any chances of the Hype Bros becoming champs. It must have been hell for Ryder to watch American Alpha replace his team and beat The Wyatt Family for the belts instead.

Zack Ryder won one of WWE's most storied titles at 'Mania 32, but he looks destined to spend 'Mania 33 sitting on the sidelines with a knee injury.
