10 WWE Stars Who Should Have Been World Champion By Now

3. Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler is legitimately tough, with 15 MMA wins and training in Muay Thai boxing, jiu-jitsu, and grappling.

Baszler debuted in WWE during 2017’s Mae Young Classic, defeating Zeda, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and Mercedes Martinez, but coming up short in the tournament finals against Kairi Sane.

Soon debuting in NXT, she became a dominant force, tearing through one of the best women’s divisions on the planet. She captured the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: New Orleans, holding it for 133 days. Her second reign was even more impressive, lasting from 28 October 2018 to 18 December 2019 (416 days).

Baszler’s future on the main roster looked promising. At Survivor Series 2019, she defeated Becky Lynch and Bayley in a Champions Triple Threat match, which headlined the show. Her feud with Lynch over the Raw Women’s Championship had potential but fizzled out after their WrestleMania 36 programme. Her championship pursuit vanished with it.

Baszler’s partnership with Nia Jax has kept her on TV and given the ‘Queen of Spades’ tag team gold. Yet, it’s hard not to be disappointed that Baszler isn’t a decorated solo champion.

Currently her only storyline exists on social media and concerns whether she will join in with Nia Jax and Reginald’s TikTok dancing.
