10 WWE Stars Who Will Have A Strong Second Half To 2017
8. Carmella
At this time one year ago, Carmella was picked last in the 2016 WWE Draft by SmackDown Live. One year later, she is the first-ever (and technically two-time) Ms. Money in the Bank.
What's interesting is that she isn't that much better in the ring than she was when she was first called up from NXT. However, her character work has especially improved, and now she is the best heel of all the women on SmackDown (though that isn't saying much considering her competition is Natalya, Lana, and Tamina).
Following a feud with Nikki Bella late last year, Carmella came into 2017 slightly directionless, but her partnership with the stooge James Ellsworth has resulted in her receiving more television time than she was before. Then, she shocked the world when she won the inaugural women's Money in the Bank Ladder match in late June.
She's largely been absent from the blue brand in the weeks since then, but it's clear Camella is biding her time before she cashes in her contract to capture the SmackDown Women's Championship. In fact, fans should bank on her to take the title in her native New York at SummerSlam and inject new life into the stagnant division.
