10 WWE Stars Whose Stock Has Fallen The Most Since SummerSlam 2016
1. Finn Bálor
The culmination of Finn Bálor's journey to the top of WWE ended up being bittersweet. 24 hours after becoming the first ever Universal Champion, the Irishman was forced to vacate the title through injury and spent around six months on the shelf. He hasn't recaptured the same momentum since returning.
Bálor's feud with Bray Wyatt is proof of that. 'Demon' character or not in Brooklyn, Finn's SummerSlam 2017 won't be as big as 2016 was. There, he beat Seth Rollins to become Raw's 'World Champion' and looked set to see out the rest of the year on top. Today, Bálor is in one of the many fringe matches at SummerSlam.
He's nowhere near the Universal Title scene and couldn't even push his way into the Fatal-4-Way scenario WWE will put on. Patience may be important for Bálor, because other chances are surely coming, but it must be agonising to think what might have been had he not suffered injury.
