10 WWE Superstars In Dire Need Of New Finishers

1. Seth Rollins

Current Finisher: Pedigree

In an attempt to help Rollins get over both as a major threat and as a shill for the Authority, Triple H ‘bestowed’ upon him the Pedigree a his new finisher. While this made sense in terms of effectiveness, as that’s one of the most protected finishers in WWE history, it does little to help Rollins carve out his own identity.

Much like when the Miz started using Ric Flair’s Figure-4 Leglock, it’s incredibly difficult for Rollins to be perceived as his own man and not an extension of the Authority’s power, which is harming his long-term image. Rollins needs a new finisher that’s easily distinguishable and that cannot be easily associated with someone else.

Suggested New Finisher: The Wrist-Clutch Exploder Suplex

Though some might dismiss this as just another Suplex variation, its creator, Jun Akiyama, achieved considerable success by taking the already-impressive Exploder Suplex, and adding a more ‘technical’ element to it.

This move is perfect for Rollins because it’s the ideal combination of technique and strength, which also complements his physique and wrestling style. This is one of those moves that can easily lead to a dramatic spot where Rollins’ opponent is trying to fight out of getting their arm locked in while he’d be trying to lock it in.

WWE can also present the move as ultra-dangerous for his opponents by ensuring that, once he locks the arm in, there's no getting out.

It’s also both unique and visually-impressive, which will do wonders in helping Rollins carve out a more unique identity in WWE.
