10 WWE Superstars Set For A Big Push Following WrestleMania 41
6. Carmelo Hayes
There are three levels with which to understand WWE's decision to finally push Carmelo Hayes:
1. He won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That is a nothing accolade in 2025, admittedly, with past winners like Madcap Moss and Bobby Lashley mooching around with the weighted trophy as opposed to, you know, doing anything, but things are different now. Bronson Reed was victorious in 2024 and was instantly placed in an Intercontinental Title feud before, later in the year, delivering a killer feud vs. Seth Rollins and a genuine Match of the Year contender vs. Braun Strowman. There is hope for Hayes yet.
2. He is in a tag team with The Miz. Historically speaking, the partnership - awfully dubbed Melo Don't Miz - won't last another month, and Carmelo will move into a tweener role, if not transition to be an outright babyface, once he is finished battering his current pal. The above picture is a testament to this.
3. He is easily a top-five WWE talent, strictly in-ring-wise. A readthrough of his NXT output confirms this. Seek out battles with Trick Williams (Stand And Deliver 2024), Ilja Dragunov (No Mercy 2023), and Ricochet (Worlds Collide 2022) if you are uncertain.
He may not be World Champion material, but he can handle himself. Chasing the United States Title will suit him for now.
