The tradition continues: after WrestleMania 41, WWE will reportedly shake up the landscape by promoting stars from NXT to the main roster.

According to BodySlam.net - first to break the news of Bryan Danielson's WWE to AEW jump back in 2021 - the two names discussed are former NXT champion Trick Williams and Lola Vice.

Williams, if you can forgive the wordplay, is indeed a tricky proposition for Paul Levesque.

He boasts megastar charisma, is a spellbinding promo, and is equipped with a jaw-dropping physique. He possesses every star-making intangible that cannot be taught, However, his light and error-prone in-ring work is hardly top-tier. He has only excelled and generated significant acclaim in matches against Ilja Dragunov. Moreover, he turns 31 years-old in May of this year. He's not a very young future star, and WWE's less than intensive house show schedule grants him few opportunities to tighten everything up.

How much does this matter, in an era in which Jey Uso, who draws similar complaints, reigns as World Heavyweight champion in a boom period?

The in-ring action in WWE is considered secondary by many fans, but it still matters - and always will. Cody Rhodes Vs. John Cena was not deemed good enough as a WrestleMania main event even before its infamously bad finish. Trick, encouragingly, will receive more opportunities to work with talents of Dragunov's calibre away from NXT. If there's ever a good time for the move, it's now: Trick has stagnated on the developmental brand, and his new moody tweener character is a case of appalling casting.

Conversely, the marketable Lola Vice has progressed steadily, and has impressed with her distinct MMA-inspired style and heartfelt promos. She can lay her stuff in, too - which, following the incredible war that was IYO Sky Vs. Rhea Ripley Vs. Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41, is a strong omen for her proper WWE run.

Trick, again, is harder to predict - but if WWE gets it right, and he himself steps up, he is a lock to one day headline WrestleMania.
