10 WWE Superstars Who Are Overdue A Main Roster Push
5. Keith Lee
The Limitless One has only been on the main roster long enough to have a cup of coffee, so the word overdue may be a stretch, but Keith Lee has reputation and skillset that should have made creative strap a rocket to his back. Lee has had an excellent 2020, delivering an exciting- albeit brief- encounter with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, before capturing the NXT Title at The Great American Bash, this past summer. While he should have been presented as one of the biggest threats to emerge from developmental, his tenure on the main roster has been more confusing than successful.
Since making his debut on the RAW after SummerSlam, Lee was immediately thrust into a storyline involving Randy Orton and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. While Lee pinned Orton clean at WWE’s Payback pay-per-view, he spent August and September losing, by disqualification, in singles competition. That is one effective way to take the wind out of a budding star’s sails.
Lee is currently embroiled in a rivalry with Braun Strowman, whose mere presence next to Lee does nothing to accentuate either man’s size. Pushing and building up giants is a slam dunk for creative and how Vince McMahon has dropped the ball with Lee is astonishing. After Team RAW’s clean sweep at this year’s Survivor Series, Lee has started to gain some momentum, and the next couple months should be focused on building Lee into a credible Royal Rumble contender.
