6. Pat McAfee

On top of shocking both the thousands crammed inside of The Dome and millions watching at home, Pat McAfee's surprise Royal Rumble appearance hilariously shoot caught both Corey Graves and Michael Cole completely off-guard.

And while that unexpected return definitely sits as one of the most satisfying of the year so far, the fact McAfee is still yet to reclaim his consistent spot at the WWE announce desk ultimately made this one feel like a bit of a bittersweet development in the end.

McAfee also casting a bit of doubt on whether or not he has a long-term future as part of the WWE machine recently - noting on Twitter how he wasn't sure at this point whether he'd be happy to "work/make money for" the folks potentially buying WWE should the company be sold - has likely left some wondering whether they've actually seen the last of the vibrant commentator/occasional in-ring performer in the company.

Or maybe Pat's just working fans like the absolute pro and all-round wrestling lover he is?

Having the former NFL player take up a spot on either the Raw or SmackDown desk in the wake of WrestleMania 39 would provide a serious boost for either shows going forward. But the ball is likely very much in McAfee's court at this stage when it comes to deciding on whether or not a Pat comeback is on the cards.
