10 WWE Superstars Who Went AWOL After WrestleMania

5. Sid Justice

Sid Justice kicking out of Hulk Hogan's legdrop at WrestleMania 8 may have been due to delayed interference from Papa Shango on the night, but the intention was still to present the 'Master and Ruler of the World' as a huge star coming out of 1992's 'Showcase of the Immortals'.

Having turned heel just a month earlier, Sid had the look and charisma to carry the top end of the card alongside babyfaces Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior in the huge shadow Hogan's impending absence was set to cast on the entire roster.

However, as it was later confirmed by Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Sid had actually failed a steroid test before the blockbuster clash with 'The Hulkster',

The match went ahead regardless, with Sid being advised his suspension would begin after the European Tour that immediately followed WrestleMania, but Justice decided otherwise and left the company before WWE could tape anything with him on the subsequent Superstars/Wrestling Challenge telecasts.

His burgeoning rivalry with Ultimate Warrior or pre-empted skirmishes with The Undertaker were abandoned without note in the company, and there'd be no mention of his entire existence until Shawn Michaels unveiled him as a bodyguard nearly three years later.
