10 WWE Superstars Who Went AWOL After WrestleMania

4. Mr Perfect

Yokozuna Lex Luger Mr Perfect

Mr Perfect had a habit of disappearing without trace in the mid-1990s, including exits without mention in both 1993 and 1996, but his sudden April 1994 departure ruined a major angle kicked off with a WrestleMania 10 WWE Title screwjob over Lex Luger.

Inserted a special guest referee in Luger's title match against Yokozuna, Perfect called for a disqualification despite the challenger being down for a clear three-count. Limply claiming it was down to Luger's assault on Mr Fuji and Jim Cornette, Perfect stood by his controversial call and also took umbrage with Lex' slight physicality towards him in the confusion.

The storyline appeared to point towards a grudge Perfect had held with Luger for the prior 12 months having lost to the then-Narcissist in suspect circumstances at WrestleMania 9.

However, beyond a short promo with Gorilla Monsoon on an April Monday Night Raw taping, the angle was dropped without trace and the two never worked the expected programme. Allegedly, Hennig's long-standing back injuries flared up, suspending a return to active competition for 'The Perfect One'.

By the time he returned again to commentate at the 1995 Survivor Series, Luger had made his infamous switch to WCW, ensuring the intriguing programme would never ever run in the company.
