10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Wrestled In New Japan

9. Manny Andrade

Overshadowed by the news of the arrival of the "New Japan Four" was the fact that, on January 8, one of the wrestling's top young talents made his own WWE debut - Manny Andrade, formerly known as La Sombra in Consejo Mundial de Lucha LIbre (CMLL), defeated Riddick Moss at an NXT live event in Tampa. Prior to his signing with WWE two months earlier, the 26-year-old Andrade was one of the most talented and charismatic stars in all of Mexico. A founding member of prominent stable Los Ingobernables, Andrade's short career has seen him win myriad titles (including CMLL's Universal Championship in 2011) and headline CMLL's Anniversary Show on multiple occasions. Andrade has also had the opportunity to compete in New Japan regularly throughout the years, due to the close relationship between CMLL and NJPW. He's participated in all of New Japan's annual tournaments, but the pinnacle of his time in the company came in 2013, when he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the fifth IWGP Intercontinental Champion. To this day, Andrade is the only junior heavyweight to hold the belt, and his victory is a testament to the faith he's earned from promoters around the world.
