Paul Orndorff was one of the first major heels that Hulk Hogan encountered as part of WWF's Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection. Everyone remembers the role Orndorff played in the lead up to the original WrestleMania, partnering with 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper.

Not as many people remember the brief babyface turn that 'Mr. Wonderful' experienced after Piper and his bodyguard 'Cowboy' Bob Orton attacked Orndorff on the first Saturday Night's Main Event. The two heels blamed Mr. Wonderful for the WrestleMania loss and Paul would soon after align himself with former foe Hulk Hogan.

The friendship with Hogan didn't last long as Orndorff turned on Hogan and once again hired Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan as his manager following WrestleMania 2.

The Orndorff/Hogan feud was one of the most successful programs in WWE history, based on the attendance and the amount of money the two drew all around the world.

Mr. Wonderful's career would span several more years and he would always be remembered for his days as a main event heel, but there were a few months there in 1985 where Paul Orndorff was actually a good guy.
