10 WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2019 Impulse Reactions

1. Big Ending?

Baron Corbin Roman Reigns
WWE.com

A mass of bodies moved themselves into position in the crowd in order for Roman Reigns to hit Baron Corbin with a spear into them right as TLC 2019 shambled off the air.

That's what happened - a reporting of facts, and one that feels more useful than relaying the pathetic expositional act that got them all there in the first place. A show that should have ended with Asuka's celebrations instead cut away from the 'Empress Of Tomorrow' for yet more of the bullsh*t of today.

Here's the thing about this - it should have been a benefit. Asuka's a heel anyway, and her match wouldn't have benefitted from commentators avoiding several elephants in the room as the show hunted for a climax. But the brawl instantly cheapened her moment by having so little value itself. This was posed earlier in this article, but where were all these babyfaces when Roman actually needed them? And why do WWE rely so heavily on these incongruous mass brawls despite returns so diminished that they may as well be wearing Shorty G jerseys.

Goodbye 2010s, it's all too apparent that we hardly knew ye.
