Zack Ryder's lamented United States Championship run in late 2011 is brought up a lot in terms of missed opportunities in WWE, but one of the often overlooked facts is that Jack Swagger of all people beat him for the title. Not only that, but Swagger did it in two minutes on RAW, and would eventually lose the title to Santino friggin' Marella.

Swagger barely defended the title during his two-month reign, but he did so at Elimination Chamber 2012 against Justin Gabriel (remember him?). What followed was a three-minute run of nothingness that hurt Gabriel more than it helped Swagger.

The match itself was only booked moments before the bout, following a backstage segment with Hornswoggle and Natalya that was more about showcasing Nattie's awful farting gimmick that anything else. To see how little respect WWE showed this title for years, look no further.
