10 WWE Worst WrestleMania Gimmick Matches

4. Bret Hart Vs Vince McMahon (WrestleMania XXVI)

It took a lot to bring Bret Hart back to the WWE fold, such were the scars left by his departure and the loss of his brother Owen. He needed to return with a bang, and on the surface the idea of taking on Vince McMahon at WrestleMania was a fine one. Logic would dictate that the elderly former wrestler with a chip on his shoulder would swiftly but comprehensively batter the even older promoter, and the old wounds would heal accordingly.

Instead, this was made far too complex. It turned into a lumberjack match, with the rest of the Hart family paid by Vince to turn on Bret. This was a ruse, though, and swiftly descended into a load of guys watching as Bret methodically took Vince apart.

For a gruelling 11 minutes, Bret worked on Vince’s spine to soften him up for the inevitable sharpshooter finish. It was unnecessary and pretty unedifying, not to mention deadly dull. Still, hopefully Bret got a little catharsis out of it.
