10 WWE Wrestlers Already Dreaming Of AEW
9. Cedric Alexander
Cedric Alexander is doomed.
After the Hurt Business disbanded, he went 50/50 with fellow former member Shelton Benjamin because there are simply no more jokes left to make, and prior to his banishment to Main Event was last seen on RAW teaming with Elias (?) and losing to R-Truth and Jaxson Ryker (!) in 1:00 (lol).
That was before the Hurt Business reformed...as fodder for Goldberg.
Alexander is an artefact of the old recruitment policy recently torn up by Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, Kevin Dunn and John Laurinaitis, whose primary "squad goal" is to reimagine WWE as the WWF of the 1980s. Cedric does not meet the remit of a WrestleMania headliner, and his particular talents - kick pad-wearing dynamic workhorse - are no longer of interest to management.
The feeling appears to be mutual; when Big Swole performed in the Casino Battle Royale at All Out, the biggest non-WWE U.S. wrestling show of the century, he tweeted "I'm so jealous right now".
Taking that tweet and his nothing WWE run into consideration, it's rather easy to deduce that Cedric would rather work for AEW.
He's a not-great promo looking at a promotion with a world class fleet of talkers - but one of them could very easily act as his mouthpiece.
