10 WWE Wrestlers Poised To Break Out In 2018

5. Ruby Riott

While The Riott Squad already feel like a lame Absolution tribute act on SmackDown, the group's members shouldn't be written off just yet.

Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan are relatively unproven, but Ruby Riott, their leader, certainly isn't. Sure, she didn't do much in NXT, but the former Heidi Lovelace is quietly one of the best pure workers in the women's division, as anyone who has seen her independent work can attest. She's more than fit to rub shoulders with the likes of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, and there's no reason she can't become a major player on the blue brand.

Much will depend on Riott's ability to overcome her stable's shoddy booking. The group have already started losing, and further momentum hits will leave Ruby with a considerable deficit to overcome. Still, she has bags of promise. Her unique look and hard-hitting style mean she'll always stand out, and while Riott lacks Becky and Charlotte's charisma, she's already stronger than the Naomis and Carmellas of the world in this regard.

Riott's ascension would be a suitable tonic for the malaise that set into SD's women's division in 2017, and it's about time the company started featuring her in longer singles bouts.
