10 WWE Wrestlers That Were Thrown Off By The Crowd
5. Sami Zayn
It was jarring seeing images of Sami Zayn getting in the face of a fan when they did the rounds following a December 2019 house show, but something of a relief when the reasons for the dissent became apparent.
Phone footage catches Zayn getting in man's face to call him a "moron" after hearing him utter a homophobic slur. This was corroborated by fans near the situation and updated accordingly on Twitter, along with confirmation that the fan had actually been removed following the incident.
'The Underdog From The Underground' was only on managerial duties for the night, patrolling the ring on behalf of then-associate Shinsuke Nakamura at the Daytona Beach show. A veteran of the wild west independents, Zayn has very probably had to deal with much worse in more dangerous situations than the fairly secure surrounds of a WWE event, but emerged with even more respect from the fanbase at large for calling out - and standing up to - putrid, toxic and dated remarks.
