10 WWE Wrestlers Too Good For Their Current Role

Speaking of former NXT Champions who have not wrestled on TV since October (comedy 24/7 Championship matches do not count), let’s talk about Andrade.

Before taking time off for elective surgery in October, Andrade was hardly afforded much airtime. Creative, it seems, had nothing for him. Yes, the same man who, alongside Johnny Gargano, delivered WWE its first Dave Meltzer 5-star classic match in seven years at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia.

WWE logic strikes again.

Then again, he is at a crossroads in his WWE career. Considering the recent release of manager Zelina Vega, a crucial addition to his character and with no thanks to his floundering partnership with Angel Garza pre-injury, Andrade finds himself a loner once again. He will need to let his wrestling do the talking, but as one of the best in the company, this should be no issue.

His athleticism speaks for itself and he moves around the ring with such suave fluency. WWE have been looking for the next Rey Mysterio for a long time now, to retain the hugely significant Latino market. Granted, Andrade does not wear a mask anymore but Dominik Mysterio isn’t ready for that spotlight, so in the meantime El Idolo can be that Latin star to capture the eyes of a demographic. When he returns, he just needs a prolonged opportunity to strut his stuff.
