10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Almost Unrecognisable Since Debuting
7. Akira Tozawa
Sadly, change is not always for the better. Towaza was no stranger to dramatic changes before coming to WWE, as before he reached the land of the giants, he'd notoriously gained hulking amounts of weight before changing his lifestyle, getting slender again and going in a fresh direction in Japan.
His debut with WWE came in the form of the Cruiserweight Classic, which brought in a whole host of fantastic performers. Tozawa prospect made a great first impression, making it past two rounds and scoring a contract for WWE's new Cruiserweight division.
When arriving in the company, he sported an intense look, with some eye-catching trunks, kick pads and a general look that made him appear as a force to be reckoned with.
The same cannot be said for his current look.
At Backlash 2020, Tozawa debuted a new gimmick, which saw him dressed as a ninja. Many people thought WWE was getting better with their racial stereotypes, but this set them back by over a decade. His new look might not make him drastically unrecognisable, but the star who debuted as a striking ferocious force is now a pale comparison to his former self.
He currently holds the 24/7 Championship, but by the time this goes out, that might no longer be the case.
