10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Almost Unrecognisable Since Debuting
8. Becky Lynch
The world of WWE is not subtle, and that's something wrestling fans have been used to for decades now. You can always expect the company to play to stereotype, and that's what they did with Becky Lynch.
When Lynch first started in NXT, she was saddled with an Irish dancing gimmick thanks to her nationality. She came to the ring with an overly happy smile, green ring-gear and hot stepping with some traditional dance moves. Even those who know nothing of the craft could see she didn't either.
Thankfully for Becky, she ended up working hard and transcending the limitations of her stereotypical gimmick. Soon, she debuted a new steampunk-inspired get-up in her title match against Sasha Banks at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable in 2015. But that was only the beginning of her evolution.
While she found success as the inaugural SmackDown Women's Champion, it seemed that she was always getting the short straw. That all changed after she hit a winning streak, completely changed her persona and became a badass performer.
As The Man, Lynch wore a whole new wardrobe, walked to the ring with far more confident energy, and ended up garnering significant acclaim as one of the biggest stars of the past few years. It's safe to say she's come a long way from dancing gigs.
