10 WWE Wrestlers Who Desperately Need To Be Repackaged In 2021

6. John Morrison

During nearly a decade of wrestling on the indies, Morrison was an excellent singles competitor, winning multiple major titles, most notably the heavyweight championships for Impact Wrestling and AAA. When rumours of his return to WWE broke in the fall of 2019, fans were excited to see if he would be given a proper singles push. After Morrison’s first appearance on SmackDown was merely answering The Miz’s locker room door, it was evident no such plans were in place.

Morrison reformed his old tag team with The Miz, which eventually led to a two months SmackDown Tag Team Title reign. Their run with the championships featured an entertaining title defense inside the Elimination Chamber, and a thrilling triple threat singles ladder match for the belts - yes, you read that correctly - between Morrison, Kofi Kingston, and Jimmy Uso, at WrestleMania 36. While he has made the most of his return so far, it is evident WWE Creative aren’t providing Morrison the opportunities to reach his full potential.

The first step is to split The Miz and Morrison, with a blow off match at WrestleMania 37. Morrison is far too good to be brought back for nothing more than a nostalgia run in the tag division. Morrison could be a perennial mid-card title contender, but he’ll need to be repackaged as more than just a goofy dork, who provides comedic relief. If he squashes The Miz at WrestleMania, WWE could begin his ascent up the card in the singles division.
