10 WWE Wrestlers Who Got Buried Because Of Their Tag Partner
6. René Duprée & Kenzo Suzuki
In one of the oddest tag team pairings WWE ever put together, René Duprée and Kenzo Suzuki started tagging in September 2004 and even managed win the WWE Tag Team Championship from Paul London and Billy Kidman on an episode of SmackDown.
WWE believed Duprée had a huge upside (he was only 20 at the time) but was still green, and they were trying everything they could to get the most out of Suzuki, who wasn’t getting over as a singles star in the slightest.
But the team didn’t last long after Duprée infuriated Hardcore Holly on the road. The former La Resistance man got a speeding ticket in a car registered in Holly’s name, which impacted Holly’s finances and insurance going forward. Holly was downright p*ssed, especially when Duprée didn’t do anything to rectify the situation.
A receipt came his way at a house show in November when Holly and Charlie Haas faced off against Duprée and Suzuki. The angry Alabaman beat the holy hell out of Duprée in the match, and after word spread about the unprofessional conduct on both sides, the pair lost their straps to Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio.
