A reality TV star becoming a professional fighter sounds like a ludicrous WWE Studios family comedy. But, it's the real-life adventure that The Miz found himself on, and, by god, it has been an impressive journey.
Mike "The Miz" Mizanin started his television career as a reality TV star, appearing in shows like The Real World, Battle of the Network Reality Stars, and Fear Factor. But, his next reality TV appearance would change his life forever as he stepped into WWE's Tough Enough.
Miz did a great job on the show, and while he didn't win, he did impress the company, who offered him a developmental contract. He eventually appeared on SmackDown as a host, hyping crowds and hosting events like the Divas Search. Were these appearances good? No, they were awkward, unlikable, and made him feel like a washed-up reality TV star.
Still, despite this god-awful start, he put the work in, steadily getting better at wrestling whilst making great use of his undeniable charisma. Now, he's one of the most decorated Intercontinental Champions in history, a surefire Hall of Famer, and a two-time former WWE Champion. Not bad for a reality TV star.
