10 WWE Wrestlers Who NEED A Great 2018

4. Jinder Mahal

Despite an incredible 12 months, Jinder Mahal is heading into 2018 with a massive point to prove. This is because pretty much everyone is convinced his brush with the main event this year was merely a flash in the pan.

They could be right too. After all, the company itself seemed to lose faith in the Modern Day Maharaja on the eve of Survivor Series in replacing him as WWE Champion at the last second with AJ Styles. That's not exactly a glowing endorsement of his performance in the preceding six months.

Even if he doesn't make it back into the main event (and, honestly, the chances of that look pretty slim), there's no reason this can't still be a successful year for Jinder. He has a huge opportunity to reinvent himself without the pressure of carrying SmackDown on his back.

All of that, however, is contingent on WWE believing in him as a long-term project. The fact is that there are a lot of guys in recent years that have been thrown on the scrap-heap after coming up short in the role of franchise player - and he may well be next.
