100 Greatest WWE Royal Rumble Moments Ever

96. Asuka & Ember Moon Square Off (2018)

Re-watching the first women's Royal Rumble from 2018 now reveals something very, very interesting: Ember Moon looked like a star in the making, and someone who'd become a firm fixture on WWE's female ranks for a generation to come. Instead, she's currently wasting away on ROH; Athena doesn't even get a lot of house room on core AEW programming.

That's a real shame.

At least she'll always have that memorable sequence vs. Asuka from 2018. Fans in Philadelphia were hooked as both women traded blows. Backstage, you'd imagine everyone was impressed. Maybe they were, but Moon's main roster run turned into a dire nightmare rather than the dream it should've been. She went from wowing fans vs. Asuka to working mini-feuds over a broken Nintendo Switch.

Ember's slick movements and the way she sold her arm following a match vs. Shayna Baszler on NXT TakeOver 24 hours before resonated with the live crowd. Her Eclipse finisher also looked dazzling. Oh, what should've been for one of NXT's brightest stars of that era.
