101 Shocking Wrestling Plans You Won't Believe Almost Happened

50. New Jack Stabbing John Cena

New Jack
WWE

Behold the face of the guy who was once wrestling's most dangerous individual.

New Jack carved (ahem) a legacy for himself as someone few wanted to trifle with. His ECW matches were so barbaric and provocative that bigger groups like WWE and WCW steered well clear. However, the former did at least contemplate what Jack could bring to the table in 2004. You're reading that right - before the ECW reprise of '05 and full-time one in '06.

Remember when Carlito’s accomplice Jesus stabbed John Cena in 2004? New Jack was in that slot first, at least on paper. It's probably for the best that WWE didn’t bring the ex-ECW lunatic in though. They'd have been risking the poster boy big time by putting him anywhere near a man Paul Heyman once booked to produce his own live action, and ultra-violent, music videos.

The sights and sounds of Jack belting unfortunate souls with any weapon he could find as 'Natural Born Killaz' by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube blared over the speakers lived on with everyone who experienced it (both live in the building and when watching on TV at home). Clearly, WWE wouldn't have licensed that song for their own use, so New Jack would've had to bring his music vid mayhem to another backing track.

Just imagine he'd been booked as the one who stabbed Cena in '04! New Jack vs. Cena taking place on WWE pay-per-view would've been something shocking. Jack's real-life transgressions and criminal past prevented that from becoming reality.
