11 Head-Scratchingly Long WWE Royal Rumble Performances

4. Hercules - 37:36 (1991)

In the eighties and early nineties, 'the look' was everything in wrestling, with actual in-ring ability often treated as an afterthought. As a result, for every memorable performer in the vein of Ted DiBiase, Randy Savage or Ricky Steamboat, the number of forgotten individuals that got by on sheer size alone is far greater. Hercules Hernandez (left), often known simply by the shortened moniker of Hercules, can retrospectively be looked upon as one such individual, despite the fact that he spent seven years in the WWE between 1985 and 1992, performing at four Wrestlemanias and two Royal Rumbles The first of these Rumble's was the fourth iteration of the event in 1991, where the record for longevity was broken for the fourth year by Rick 'The Model' Martel, who lasted for 52 minutes in a match that also saw The British Bulldog and Hall of Famers Tito Santana and Greg Valentine also break the 30 minute barrier. Hercules somehow joined them with a 37 minute stint that saw him eliminate a grand total of zero opponents. This long run was made to look even more ridiculous in a year later in the memorable 1992 Rumble won by Ric Flair from the #3 position. Here Hercules lasted under a minute, being tossed out of the ring in an unceremonious fashion by the Big Boss Man after just fifty six seconds.
