11 HUGE NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard Predictions You Need To Know
7. Bully Ray Vs. Juice Robinson (New York City Street Fight)
This was originally billed as an open challenge, which sounds about as appealing as a needle to the eyeball. Few wrestlers overstate their importance to This Business like Bully Ray. His pre-match promo would have been doubly excruciating given that he hails from New York, and the contest itself would've depended on the opponent: the former Dudley can still walk-and-brawl, but that's about the extent of his abilities in 2019.
Fortunately, ROH and NJPW made the best possible choice by having Juice Robinson answer the call ahead of time, giving this clash a far higher ceiling than if, say, Silas Young was in his place.
It's odd that Robinson doesn't have a more prominent role on the card, given that he's the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. That this looks like a non-title match suggests he may even lose, but we're not too worried about. One of the world's most improved babyfaces over the past few years, there's no way New Japan consent to the wild, flamboyant losing to a guy like Bully Ray, who may never work under their banner again.
Winner: Juice Robinson.
