If you were to look back at all 32 prior WrestleManias, you could pick out at least one match to stand the test of time, be it due to classic in-ring action or something memorable that happened to make it historic. Every single 'Mania has one iconic bout, and most have several.
WrestleMania 33 had zero.
Outside of The Undertaker retiring, there was nothing on this card that was must-see. Sure, the return of The Hardy Boyz was exciting, but that adrenaline will fade soon. Cena’s proposal to Nikki came at the end of a pedestrian bout that could have been a midcard SmackDown affair, and the couple aren’t viewed with the same reverence as Randy Savage and Elizabeth - so that won’t be looked back on as fondly.
Brock vs. Goldberg was a spectacle only because it was a rarity to see Goldberg take bumps and be manhandled in the manner he was, but the bout itself took less time than Undertaker’s entrance.
