8. The Show Was Poorly Paced
Match placement was also a problem, as the show felt like it was 15 hours long. With a pre-show that kicked off at 5:00 PM EST, if you were to pause for any significant time you were likely in front of your TV until well after midnight.
The decision to place the Roman Reigns/Undertaker match last makes sense in hindsight, as the visual of Taker’s gear lying in the ring was an iconic way to close an otherwise average Mania, but sending the women out in what has traditionally been called “the death slot” was the wrong move.
The Universal title bout injected life into the crowd with a shot of adrenaline they had been desperately craving. To give them a chance to come down from that momentary high was a bad call. Also it felt like the show lost momentum as it progressed, with the opening bouts grabbing attention and then dying off in the middle before picking back up for Lesnar and Big Bill.
And can we please get rid of the concerts?
After baking in the Orlando sun for five-plus hours, no one wants to sit through a musical performance, regardless if one of the musicians does have a corny play-on-words name in honor of the state where the event is taking place.
