11 Most Disappointing WWE PPV Endings

6. TLC 2014 — A Shocking Defeat For Ambrose

Less than two months after that Hell in a Cell finale, WWE was at it again with another overbooked PPV finish.

This time, at the Table, Ladders and Chairs show, Dean Ambrose was facing the man who’d interrupted that aforementioned Cell match, Bray Wyatt. Again, the preceding match was actually pretty great, with plenty of weapons spots including Ambrose hitting Wyatt with a trio of elbow drops off of ladders and through various tables.

However, it was a weapons spot—though not the most conventional one—that contributed to the screwy finish that ultimately let this one down.

With Wyatt on the ropes, Ambrose went searching for something under the ring, just as he had at Hell in a Cell. Here, he’d grab a TV monitor instead, although he’d forgotten to check it was disconnected...

When Ambrose charged at Wyatt, monitor in hand, the cable snapped and the TV exploded—because apparently, that’s how these things work. The resultant pyro-show allowed Wyatt to captialise and lay Ambrose out with Sister Abigail for an anti-climactic finish to both the match and the PPV.
