11 Off-Air WCW Moments You Weren't Supposed To See

6. Thunder Shows The End Of Sting€™s Match Before It€™s Started

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwllPgeCluQ#t=1h8m8s It€™s one thing to show €˜off air€™ moments accidentally when the show is live like on Nitro. There is a lot of opportunity for human error to rear its ugly head, and no production is perfect. So even though we weren€™t meant to see the prior two moments, and they probably ruined the shows they were on, at least we can be forgiving considering the circumstances in which they were produced. You can€™t say the same about this one though. This is an even more glaring example of poor production because this €˜off air€™ moment wasn€™t shown on Nitro live, it was shown on Thunder, which at this stage was all pre-taped. Even though it was pre-taped though, WCW managed to show an ending to Sting€™s match before he had even walked out to start the match. Now €“ this clearly was meant to be an €˜€˜on air€™€™ moment admittedly. But it was meant to be €˜€˜off air€™€™ at this stage of the show, and the viewer€™s certainly weren€™t meant to see it at the time it was showed. This was the main event of the show after all and it featured a Russo swerve involving Jeff Jarrett that was important to the story being told. The worst case scenario was that the whole thing would be shown in the wrong part of the telecast. So of course, this is exactly what happened. The ending and the swerve were shown before the match started which ruined the last ten minutes of a show that was rapidly circling the drain, and needed all the viewers it could possibly muster.
