11 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (3 Sept)

Ups...

11. R-Truth Rules Once More

The usual 24/7 Championship disclaimer applies here: if you don't like the gimmick, last night's offerings brought nothing that'll convince you that WWE's designated comedy division is a worthwhile endeavour.

This columnist enjoyed them regardless. They felt like a throwback to the belt's first few months, when madcap nonsense was peppered throughout Raw and SmackDown. More importantly, these segments put the belt back on the closest thing the division has to an ace, with R-Truth regaining the belt from Drake Maverick, who, in turn, had just taken it from Bo Dallas after The B-Team and a gang of other dorks had jumped him earlier on.

Whether or not Maverick will ever be able to consummate his marriage remains to be seen, but putting the belt back on the division's most creative guy is encouraging.
