11 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling No Surrender 2021
1. Knockouts Tag Match Underwhelms
This was a massive letdown.
Fire N Flava's defence of the Knockouts Tag Team Championships against Havok and Nevaeh had all the intentions of being one of, maybe even the best match of the night. It was no disqualifications and Texas Tornado rules, after all; what's not to love about that? Instead, the former of those rules failed to be a major factor in the title bout, while the in-ring action was passable at best.
Some of the tandem offence from the challengers was decent at least, with their usual backbreaker/lariat combination being a nice moment. Kiera Hogan rushing around the ring to hand out a plethora of stiff strikes to her adversaries was, again, nice. You can see a plot forming, can't you? Nothing was truly great about this match.
It was made worse when the match concluded, as Kiera dished out a roundhouse kick to Nevaeh, followed by quite a botched cutter from Tasha Steelz. Her execution of the move was one of the worst your writer has seen. She came in at an awkward angle, and landed a good while before Nevaeh did. For a good cutter, both involved need to land at more or less the same, exact time. An abysmal conclusion to an overall bad match.
Nevaeh seemed to walk out on Havok post-match, so at least there doesn't seem to be any continuation of this story. It can always be revisited as it's actually been very, very good up to now. Unfortunately, the big blowoff was the worst offering.
