11 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling No Surrender 2021

2. Definition Of Standard

Brian Myers and Hernandez vs. Matt Cardona and Eddie Edwards wasn't technically a bad match by any means. It was just awfully standard, and couldn't possibly hold up to the level of doubles wrestling on offer in Impact right now.

The usual tag team match rules applied here. Myers and Hernandez cordoned Eddie off in their corner for a large portion of the bout, with 'Supermex' doing much of the heavy lifting. Once the hot tag was made to Cardona, proceedings picked up ever so slightly, but it just wasn't enough. It remained a far too basic encounter, as Eddie and Hernandez fought out to ringside, allowing the former Edgeheads to end the match. Myers catapulted Cardona into an exposed turnbuckle, and then downed him with his lariat finisher, now aptly-dubbed the Roster Cut.

Again, not a terrible match by any stretch of the imagination, however, the standard of tag team wrestling not only within Impact Wrestling, but in the overall pro wrestling universe is just at such a high level right now. This very easily could have been an Up. It was just missing that extra little something.
