11 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 30)

3. Announcements? Pffft.

Roman Reigns failed to deliver on his promised SummerSlam announcement last night, with an unknown assailant trying to kill him by toppling a bunch of scaffolding on him backstage. Earlier in the evening, Daniel Bryan failed to make the "career-altering" proclamation he has been teasing for three weeks now, walking away from interviewer Kayla Braxton before she could coax it out of him.

This is getting a little tiresome now. For the first consecutive week, WWE have pulled at least one SmackDown bait-and-switch and rather than putting heat on Bryan or whoever attacked Reigns, it's just irritating. It makes the viewer impatient.

These days, you're safer to assume that an announcement won't be made when it's advertised in advance, and that should never be the case.
