12 Best WWE Pay-Per-Views That Didn't Have A World Title Match

10. In Your House: International Incident

Prepping for their SummerSlam WWE Title match one month later, champion Shawn Michaels and challenger Vader lead teams into a stirring six-man main event pitting the makeshift trio of 'HBK', Ahmed Johnson and Sycho Sid against the Camp Cornette group made up of 'The Mastadon', Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart.

Won by the heels thanks to Vader pinning 'The Heartbreak Kid', the frantic brawl was one of several highlights on a concise In Your House card playing to a rapturous British Columbia crowd enjoying their first ever WWE pay-per-view.

Most over of the lot was the returning Sid, who worked up to the response in a remarkable display that would occur often enough in 1996 to convince the company to put the WWE Title on him at that year's Survivor Series.

Highlights from the undercard featured the best examples of common pairings, as contests pitting The Undertaker against Goldust and Stone Cold Steve Austin against Marc Mero bettered any of their prior outings.

Fans of gallows humour will also appreciate Jerry Lawler's commentary throughout Mankind's match with Jake Roberts stand-in Henry Godwinn. Railing on 'The Snake' for the alcoholism he was then disavowing (and later surfaced as the reason he missed this show), the vindictive 'King' delivers some savage put-downs ahead of their own SummerSlam clash.
