CM Punk's endlessly focussed-upon "Pipe Bomb" promo reflected the cathartic release of a man no longer bound by job fear or a script that may ordinarily have hamstrung him. In it, he targeted some anger at John Cena to create heat for their legendary Money In The Bank WWE Championship scrap.

What rarely gets attention is the time he'd come at 'The Champ' before with equal rage but substantially less verbiage. This trial run was all pro wrestling bluster, but 'The Voice Of The Voiceless' had yet again found a way to make it his own.

Retreating to the commentary booth in November 2010, Punk was infuriated by Cena's relentless and comical battering of The Nexus long after they'd outlived their usefulness. It became apparent exactly why that was just weeks later when he assumed control of the bumbling squadron from underneath flailing leader Wade Barrett.

The "fired" Cena had knocked over his drink in pursuit of the heels, triggering Punk to snap on 'Big Match John' when he made his return to the ring. Revealing himself as the leader of The Nexus closed the loop for the time being, but a failure to get redemption of any kind within that angle drove an even angrier 'Straight Edge Superstar' to try and change the culture entirely a few months later.
