10. An Endless Summer Foreshadows The End Of The Rockers

When Shawn Michaels grabbed his longtime partner Marty Jannetty by the hair and smashed his face through the window of WWE's prop Barber Shop interview set, the moment created was so emotionally potent that it informed the future of the 'Heartbreak Kid' as well as the company at large.

It was considered a watershed moment, an archetypal tag team breakup and a checkpoint even more significant than the untelevised-but-historic Hulk Hogan/Ric Flair matches taking place either side of it. Yet, for all the drama that came with Michaels' treacherous superkick and subsequent glass attack, the seeds for their collapse had been sown for some time.

Having lost at WrestleMania VI, The Rockers found themselves embroiled in a feud with the newly-named Power & Glory for actually trying to help a heel-turning Paul Roma. The pair smashed the f*ck out of Jannetty and Michaels, targeting the future 'Showstopper's knee in a powerful SummerSlam 1990 squash. A Tag Team Championship victory over The Hart Foundation the following October was erased from history entirely, and the pair meandered through a meaningless 1991 as their chemistry and cohesion gradually eroded.
