12 Gimmicks WWE Ripped Off From Horror Movies

1. Kane

If Michael Myers from Halloween fame died in a fire, he would be Kane. The look is similar, even if the colour scheme different. Being a silent, unstoppable machine of destruction is a common denominator as well, though Kane's character would progress into something else (including Corporate Kane) over the years. If that was it, the Kane/Michael similarity might be written off as a coincidence. However, Jim Cornette has spoken about the origins of the character (who debuted as we know him in 1997) extensively, stating that Halloween was his favourite movie, and that Myers was in fact the inspiration. The idea of a figure who couldn't feel pain, was basically inhuman, and just wanting to destroy people - that was Myers, and that's what the original basis for Kane was (as well as being The Undertaker's evil brother). This particular bit of character "borrowing" worked out for the best, as Kane remains one of the most iconic WWE stars to this very day.
