Randy Orton is one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history. A 13-time World Champion, he has been pushed as a main event star for the bulk of his 15-year run, and is still only 37 years old. For as long as he’s healthy, ‘The Viper’s is a guy WWE will turn to time and time again, and while not without his critics, he’ll ultimately go down as one of his era’s biggest stars.

Not to take anything away from Randy’s skill as a performer, but a certain degree of his success comes from his bloodline. Orton’s father, Bob Jr., became a national star through his bruising, technical style, and was snapped-up by WWE as part of their expansion in 1980s. There, he became a supporting figure in the timeless Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan feud, and returned to WWE as part of his son’s rivalry with The Undertaker in 2005.

Going even further back, Bob Orton Sr.’s professional wrestling career started in 1951, and didn’t end until 2000. A legendary tag team wrestler, he won gold alongside his son, plus Eddie Graham and Lord Alfred Hayes. Bob Sr. was a major player in the Central States and Florida territories, and once challenged Bruno Sammartino for the WWE Championship inside Madison Square Garden.
